Eulevoto Hamburg 2016 supports “Women in Exile”!Refugee women are getting loud! Summer tour 2014
Women in Exile is an initiative of refugee women founded in Brandenburg in 2002 by refugee women to fight for their rights. The foundresses decided to organize as a refugee women’s group because they have made the experience that refugee women are doubly discriminated against not only by racist laws and discriminative refugee laws in general but also as women. The struggle against these laws is usually supported by mixed-sex refugee self-organizations and in their experience, these are often dominated by men who look at other issues as more important. Women in Exile e.V. was founded in Potsdam in 2011 and is recognized as a non-profit association.

Financial support for teamsFinancial support (also known as the Eulevoto outreach program) is available upon request to teams or individuals who lack the financial means to participate in the tournament. The goal of this program is to help women from countries where homosexuality is illegal or punished, as well as those with little financial means. Any leftover funds will be passed on to the next organizing city in order to keep this instrument of solidarity alive and continue to help more women participate in the event.
Would you like to apply for the program? Please contact us at hamburg2016@eulevoto.net

Please note:
Of course you’ll find hotels/accommodation in Wilhelmsburg, the district where the sports halls are located. But we are purposely recommending hotels in more central districts, for two reasons: because you’ll be closer to the registration venue and the party, and because there are many more bars, restaurants and interesting stores than in Wilhelmsburg. It’s not that far to the sports halls, either (Altona – Wilhelmburg, 22 minutes; Central Station – Wilhelmburg, 8 minutes), but if you want to go out and have fun in the evening, you’re better off north of the Elbe river!
