Welcome / Registration Location

On Friday 29 March we will welcome the teams in Bar BukaAlbert Cuypstraat 124, Amsterdam, +31 20 341 94 60

Friday evening we will be handig out everything you need for the tournament in Bar Buka. Bar Buka is quite small, so just get your info/tickets, have a drink and find a place to eat or spend the rest of the evening. The neighbourhood offers plenty restaurants and bars. Bar Buka is in the old quarter De Pijp. In the daytime the street is a famous marketplace. You better not come to Bar Buka by car; parking will cost you a lot of time and a lot of money. Take metro 52 to stop De Pijp and walk 6 minutes. Or take tram 4 or 24 to stop Marie Heinekenplein and walk 7 minutes.

Sports Hall

On Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 March all teams will be playing all their matches inUniversity Sports Centre Universum Science Park 306, 1098 XH Amsterdam +31 20 525 89 55

Parking a car costs you 1 euro per hour on Saturday; parking is free on Sundays. There are a couple of possibilities for public transport: a train station Science Park in the vicinity, as well as a bus stop (bus 40) and a tram stop is 15 minutes walk away (tram 3).

Party

Closing party on Sunday evening will take place in Akhnaton club in the center of Amsterdam.Akhnaton Club
Nieuwezijds Kolk 25, 1012 PV Amsterdam +31 20 624 33 96

Parking in the city centre is a disaster: only very expensive parking garages nearby. Akhnaton Club is very near Central Station, so you better get a bus / tram / metro / train to Amsterdam CS and walk in 5 minutes to the party.

Hosted housing

Participants who don’t want to stay in a hotel or a youth hostel and don’t want to rent an apartment with the whole team either, or can not afford it, can ask for hosted housing. We try to provide as many places to sleep as possible, but we cannot guarantee anything. Hosted housing means that (some friend of a friend of) a Netzo member is willing to let people stay overnight at her or his house. There may be beds you can use of there may only be space to spread out your sleeping bag on your air mattress or camping mat. Please mention in the registration form if you would like to get hosted housing. We will contact you about the possibilities and let you get in touch with your host as soon as possible

Sponsorship

For those who have small or no budgets at all, or little resources, we have sponsors that are willing to sponsor these teams. If your team has limited resources, or you know teams or women that would like to join but can't for this reason, please email us and we will put you on the candidate list. Depending on how much sponsorship we have and the number of candidates, we will see what we can do for you. Please don't hesitate to contact us about this.

DINING, GENERAL
Amsterdam has more then 1000 restaurants, so plenty of choice. There are too many to give tips, but the best way to find something you like is trough app or website The Fork.We do advise you to make reservation well in advance, at least a week, especially if you are with a group, as finding a place last minute or walk-in is just impossible. Avoid the tourist traps around Dam square, Rokin, Rembrandtplein and Damrak.

ACCOMMODATION IN AMSTERDAM
Accommodation is expensive in Amsterdam. We advise you to look on Trivago, Booking.com and Airbnb for the accommodation most suitable for you. Here are some tips on affordable accommodation:

Stayokay hostel - a very neat hostel that provides private rooms as well. There are few Staokays in the city, the one close to the hall we will be playing in is Stayokay Oost.https://www.stayokay.com/nlHans Brinker hostel - Enclosed by picturesque canals and with the Leidesquare (‘entertainment area’) a mere 5 minutes away, the Hans Brinker Hostel is making its mark since 1970. https://www.hansbrinker.com

Transport
The best way to get around in Amsterdam is by
bike. You can rent a bike on almost every corner of every street. The price per day is ca. €12-€15. Although it looks fun, beware that it is a mean of transportation for people of Amsterdam and traffic rules apply.

If you rather travel by
taxi
, you can use Uber or Bolt app. Those are cheaper then getting a cab on the street.

Public transport is very well developed in Amsterdam and it will take you everywhere. You can travel by bus, tram or metro. One way ride is ca. € 3,80, depending on where you have to be. Beware, you can not pay in cash. Have your bank card ready. You can easily check in with your bank card and you don't need to by a ticket. If you prefer a ticket,  just by one on the spot. To find out what route to take, you can use Google maps or the Dutch PT app
9292.
